Just another day down under

I can't believe it is already March 3. Time sure is flying.

Yesterday, we had a pretty chill day. We left early to drive about two hours south of Brisbane to Byron Bay, which is known for its surfing and extremely relaxed and alternative culture. It was a cloudy day but we still managed to get some solid time on the beach.

Afterwards Tim enjoyed a 3k hike to a lighthouse built in 1901 and to the most eastern part of Australia. During his hike I enjoyed a facial. It was awesome and very relaxing.

Tim and I had some great pizza for dinner followed by a sunset drive back up to the lighthouse (where we saw dolphins in the water below) and then some gelato before we headed back to Brisbane. All in all it was a pretty great day. Tim will post pics soon.

Today was a chill day. We drove out to Diane's work and enjoyed lunch with her. We also stuck around the house and got ready for our trip to Sydney and New Zealand. We leave early tomorrow morning. We plan to hit up Bondi Beach tomorrow and grab a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. Then on my actualy birthday, March 5, we will check out the famous Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

We arrive in New Zealand on the night of the 5th. We are sticking around the south island and staying in Christchurch, Queensland and Te Anau. We can't wait. One thing I think is super cool is that New Zealand is one of the first places to celebrate the New Year, and it is 23 hours ahead of Honolulu, where we spent our honeymoon. For some reason this really baffles me. It is like we will have been to the ends of the earth...ha!

Anyway, that is all for now. Stay tuned for more updates.
